National Homemade Soup Day

National Homemade Soup Day – Like Chicken Noodle Soup, Beef Noodle Soup Egg Drop Soup, Potato Soup and Tomato Soup … And more.

National Homemade Soup Day

I like Chicken Noodle Soup, Beef Noodle Soup Egg Drop Soup, Potato Soup and Tomato Soup the best. I usually use a can, but homemade is the best! I will make my own Chicken Noodle and Beef Noodle Soup.

I remember eating Alphabet Soup as child!

National Homemade Soup Day

This day is about the homemade soups, not canned soup. But, I will say, Pregresso Soups seem close to homemade to me. I do like oyster crackers with my soup! Others like saltine crackers or buttered saltines. I do like buttered saltines on the side.

A lot of times you hear soup is good for you especially if you are sick … like Chicken Soup.

Quick Soup Recipe

  • Boiled Water
  • Chicken or Beef Bullion
  • Meat (Chicken or Beef)
  • Egg Noodles

Very simple!

Date of National Homemade Soup Day

This day is held annually on February 4th.  I couldn’t find why this date or in February, but it could be because this month is known for colds and flu viruses.

Some people even do a Souper Bowl festival with soup for the Super Bowl. Interesting enough, 2018, National Homemade Soup Day is on Super Bowl Sunday (Souper Bowl).

Did you know?

We get the word “soup” from the word “sop”. A Sop is a dish that is of a soup or thick stew like substance. It also had a piece of bread soaked in it.

It also came from the word “sop”. Just think about that one … We can sip our soup.

I even read that over 10 billion bowls of soup are consumed a year.
