National Fajita Day

You can get these from Steak, Chicken or Shrimp. I am not big on shrimp, but I do like the combo of chicken and steak. Usually served with soft tortilla shells. Some shredded cheese, lettuce, sour cream and other items. Also some refried beans and rice on the side too. It is most often cooked or presented in a cast iron skillet. I am sure you can even have some pork fajitas too.

On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina founded National Fajita Day in 2016. This day is held annually on August 18.

I like mine cooked with onions and jalapeños. I will add the cheese and rice. But most Mexican restaurants won’t cook it like I like it, because it gives off a type of gas I guess and causes everyone to choke. That happened to me at one Mexican restaurant. Everyone in the back was couching and when they brought it to the dining area, all of us in there was too. I tried to do it at another Mexican restaurant and the waiter goes, You Kill Us All! I then remembered that ordeal.

But when I cook them at home, I do it and no problem. I can go to BD’s and no problem or even Asuka Buffet and no problem when I get the meat cooked with onions and jalapeños.

Also on Sunday, August 18, 2019, Chili’s will have 3 for $10 as one of their options by having chicken fajita lunch portion option is dine-in only at participating restaurants. Where Chili’s has been serving fajitas since 1984.

I am sure many other restaurants may have specials on fajitas this day as well. If you know of any, feel free to share in the comments below.
