National Calzone Day - a day to enjoy a great calzone, oven-baked folded pizza! #NationalCalzoneDay #CalzoneDay

I love a good calzone! Gondolier in Jefferson City, TN has really good Calzones. I like the meat one, but I have to order it as House and take off mushrooms and onions. Another one I enjoy a lot has bacon and chicken and I ask for Alfredo instead of marinara sauce. I think that is my favorite calzone that way!

A Calzone is an Italian oven-baked folded pizza. It usually has cheeses and toppings inside. The sauce is usually in a dipping cup. A lso known as a calzoni.

This calzone holiday is held annually on November 1. It has been celebrated since 2016 and was founded by Minsky’s Pizza on October 25th, 2016.

Now don’t confuse the calzone for a stromboli!

The major difference between a calzone and a stromboli is how they are sealed … a calzone is like a taco, and a stromboli is like a burrito. Tacos and calzones are always folded. Burritos and stromboli are always rolled.

Bon Appetite

What do you like in your calzone?
