Mom’s non-perishables went to blessing boxes — if you do not know, my mom recently passed away. She had a good bit of non-perishable food that we went and put in a few blessing boxes.
Moms non-perishables went to blessing boxes
A blessing box is a small, free-standing box filled with non-perishable food items, toiletries, and other essential goods. It operates on a “take what you need, leave what you can” basis, providing a convenient and accessible way for people in need to get the items they need. Blessing boxes are often placed in public areas like churches, parks, libraries, and community centers, making them easily accessible to anyone in need. (Learn more.)
So my wife and I took the non-perishable items to three different churches who had blessing boxes in our town. We pray the items will help and bless other families in need.
We even put some of her massive collection of tote bags in it for those blessing boxes so those in need can use them to put what they need in it and they can reuse that bag over and over again.
I know my mom would want those items to go to others in need. I know this because, whenever they did commodities or food give outs at her apartment complex, she would give away what she couldn’t or wouldn’t eat. So we figured this was one way we could help bless others in her memory. They may not know it, but we do!
We also had some extra soap and odds and ins stuff and we put it in the blessing boxes too.
Thank you Lord for blessing boxes to help bless others.
