I was given a Bible to do a blog review on it. It is a new English translation. It is called the Modern English Version, abbreviated as MeV. It is claimed to be rewritten or adapted from the from the King James Version (KJV).
Modern English Version (MeV) Bible
I have got to look through this Bible some here and there. I’ve compared it to the translation the New King James Version (NKJV). I barely noticed much of a difference between the MeV and the NKJV.
The design of this Bible that they gave me was a clean white and blue, the back of the hard cover was solid white, unlike the sleeve jacket. I wished the back cover had the blue band on the back continuing it from the front and sides.
I personally don’t like the sleeve jackets placed on hard cover books. They are annoying and slip away.
The pages were printed on thin paper, you could almost see the pages scriptures on the other side. I guess they trying to match a type of material used with first Bibles that caused you to see through the pages almost.

When it says four-color it means full color that the maps use color and are not in black and white.
Of course they have other designs of the Bible to choose from as well.

One key thing when looking at a translation does it say the virgin birth?
Isaiah 7:14 In Other English Translations
MeV: Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: The virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall cal his name Immanuel.
KJV: Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
NKJV: Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
NIV: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
HCSB: Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel.
ESV: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
ASV: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
AMP: Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the young woman who is unmarried and a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God with us].
The Good News Translation omits the virgin birth. Well then, the Lord himself will give you a sign: a young woman who is pregnant will have a son and will name him ‘Immanuel.
This MeV doesn’t omit the virgin birth here in Isaiah 7:14. It was a nice version of the Bible. It is very similar maybe a word or two different than the NKJV. I am a person that believes in using more than one translation to help aide in your study. One translation may not make it clear but another could. I use a variety of translations myself.
I hope that you pray and find a Bible version that is easy to understand for you. Make sure it is the true Word of God. Some say that KJV is the only Bible, but they forget, English wasn’t spoken back in the time of Jesus or start of the world. It was Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic.
Me personally, I will stick more to using the NASB. This may not be the review they want, but I am a Christian and believe in telling the truth. I will say it is a nice translation what I did pick from it, again I see it is very similar to the NKJV for the most part. But, this version could be for you. So don’t rule it out, check it out for yourself. I will keep this translation and check it out from time to time too.
I do believe that today we have too many choices of English translation versions.
Remember God’s Word is Living! It speaks to us!
