Learned to Type on a Type Writer

Learned to Type on a Type Writer – I was in high school and had to take keyboarding. It was on a type writer!

I remember if we wanted to type centered, you had to first count the number of characters. Then you divide that by half. Then, we hit center key. Last step was to backspace the half of the original count.

If you got caught looking at the keyboard, the teacher would hold a book over our hands.

Yes, my high school had computers, the computer lab was used by another class during that period. However, it was an electronic type writer. Nothing like the image used in this post. But, I have got to type on one similar before.

Update: I was at a thrift shop and found a similar kind of electric typewriter that I think could have been similar to the one I learned to type on in high school. See photo below.
