Leap Second Day

We all have heard of Leap Year Day, where we have an extra day each year. But have you ever heard of Leap Second Day?

Leap Second Day

During a leap second we leap forward one second into time! So we have one extra second in that day. There is 86,400 in a normal day.

Leap Second Day

It will either occur on June 30 or a December 31 based on a mathematical equation. December 31, 2016 was the last Leap Second. No word of any future leap seconds.

We do a Leap Second supposedly to help with time and the Earth’s rotation.

The International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service (IERS) is the firm that announces future leap second days, usually a few months before.

The practice of advancing one second started in 1972. To help keep time adjusted accurately to the atomic time. This practice is used with the UTC, which is where most international time is kept.

No further dates set yet, when a new date is set, I will update this blog post. I have read they plan to discontinue leaping a second in time.

Time in the Bible

Now let’s look at time in the Bible. The word “time” is used 710 times in the NKJV Bible according to Bible Gateway.

The God we know, knows no time. He has always existed and always will exist. No beginning to God, nor an end to God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:1-5

There even is a time for everything. Read Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. Check out verse 11, below. We all have eternity with God. But we must accept His Son for that eternity.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11

Check out this verse below. It shows that God doesn’t really see time. This just can show that God is eternal.

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 2 Peter 3:8

In God We Trust Day a day based on that is imprinted on our currency here in the United States. Our Nation was founded under One Nation under God. Anymore it seems God has been removed from everything. We Christians are just taking it and not standing up for our beliefs and allowing this to happen all because today’s world believes in being politically correct (pc) they say. Did you know there is a In God We Trust Day as well? #InGodWeTrust
  • The Red & Black Ant Analogy — Understanding the True Enemy
The Red & Black Ant Analogy — Understanding the True Enemy — In the natural world, there’s a fascinating phenomenon involving ants. If you place 100 black ants and 100 red ants in a jar, they coexist peacefully. However, if the jar is shaken, chaos ensues. The ants, now agitated, begin to attack each other, perceiving their fellow jar-mates as the enemy. This behavior provides a poignant metaphor for human society, where often the true adversary is not the one who appears different from us, but rather the one who incites division.
