John 3 - This is day three of the 21 day Gospel of John Challenge. In this challenge, you are to read the third chapter of John. #John3

In the third chapter of John, there are two segments … The New Birth and John’s Last Testimony with a total of 35 verses.

The New Birth

In that it talks about the new birth, known as being born again.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 3:3 NASB – Jesus answered Nicodemus

Oh course Nicodemus was wondering how a person can come out of his mother again, but Jesus wasn’t talking about a physical birth, but a spiritual birth.

Born again is Regeneration. Check out the song Regeneration by Shai Linne.

I think the most known verse in this chapter is the sixth verse …

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:16 NASB

I am glad that God loves us. He loves us so much that He gave His ONE and ONLY son to die for sins. All of the point of Easter.

The next verse, verse 17, tells a bit more …

For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

It also goes to show that evil hates the light. That is because light reveals (exposes).

John’s Testimony

In verse 24, under John’s Testimony, the verse points out that John was not yet thrown in prison and it also notes that baptisms were being performed.

John was sharing that He is not the Christ, but that he was sent before Christ. Not to mention, John mentioned …

He must increase, but I must decrease.

John 3:30

I agree when people see us, they should see Christ and not us. We must let Christ be known! After all Jesus is the answer to EVERYTHING!

Verse 36 tells us we must believe in the Son (Jesus) and we must obey the Son or we will see the wrath of God.
