Deaf Missions has already been working on a Bible in Sign Language. ASLV that stands for American Sign Language Version. Which uses ASL to present the Word of God.

The title of this Jesus Film is UnCondemed.

The film is currently still being filmed and in the works. They are still seeking to raise funds for it too. Jesus died also for the deaf and blind. One day that deafness and blindness will be healed for the Child of God in our glorious new bodies in Heaven.

“The heart-language, it’s related to a person’s identity. For a person to see something in their heart-language, that really will capture their heart, and they’ll feel, that person will then, will feel like ‘Oh my goodness, they’re actually communicating to me. This is my language’.”

Chad Entinger with Deaf Missions signs while communication through a translator, as reported by Mission Network News.

Sadly Mission Network News explained that many Deaf assume that the Triune God is only for hearing people.

“This movie translation challenges that concept and is an investment in Deaf ministry and discipleship. It also communicates to the Deaf community that they matter to not just Christians, but to God.”

The production of this film is said to take at least three years, maybe four to complete the full-length film.

See the Pilot Video here. The Pilot does say that parental guidance is suggested to watch. This video is 10 minutes long and uses American Sign Language. You can turn on the closed captioning if you don’t know ASL. In that video … You’ll see Jesus encounter a woman who should have been sentenced for her sin. Taken from the Gospel of John and filmed entirely in American Sign Language, you’ll see the love, grace, and forgiveness of Jesus.

I think this is a wonderful idea to do a film about Jesus in ASL. I know very little ASL. My mom had taught me a few signs as a child. She has a certificate in deafness.

As I learn more about this Jesus Film, I will update this blog post or create a new one. So make sure to follow this blog!
