About jelly beans

Jelly beans are small, bean-shaped candies that are usually made with a shell of sugar and corn syrup and a soft, chewy center. They come in a wide variety of colors and flavors, and are often sold in mixed assortments. Some of the most popular jelly bean flavors include cherry, grape, lemon, lime, orange, and strawberry, but there are also many more unusual and exotic flavors available.

The exact origin of jelly beans is not known, but they are believed to have been developed in the United States in the late 19th century, possibly as a modification of a Middle Eastern confection called Turkish delight. Jelly beans became particularly popular in the United States during the 1930s, and were a favorite treat of American soldiers during World War II.

In addition to being a popular candy, jelly beans are often used in games and activities, such as the game of “bean boozled,” in which players take turns eating jelly beans of different colors that look identical, but have either a delicious or disgusting flavor. Jelly beans are also a popular decoration for cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods, and are often used in Easter baskets and other holiday displays.

I want to share this with you. My mom handed me this bookmark she got today from my church (2012). It is called “The Jelly Bean Prayer.” It gives you a different color of the Jelly Bean and what it means. A great prayer for around Easter, National Jelly Bean Day or just anytime! It reminds me of the Power Salvation Bracelets.

This is the bookmark that my mom got.

On March 9, 2016, I was at the Talbott, TN post office and a woman handed the clerk a little baggie with jelly beans in it and the Jelly Bean Prayer. This can also be known as the Jelly Bean Gospel.

The colors of the Jelly Bean Prayer

  • RED – Red is for the blood Christ gave.
  • GREEN – Green is for the grass God made.
  • YELLOW – Yellow is for the sun so bright.
  • ORANGE – Orange is for the edge of night.
  • BLACK – Black is for the sins that were made.
  • WHITE – White is for the grace Christ gave.
  • PURPLE – Purple is for the hour of sorrow.
  • PINK – Pink is for the new tomorrow.

I thought this was cute and I knew I had to share it with my readers of my blog. When we pray, we can thank God for each of these colors and what they mean. Here is the bookmark my mom got.

Easter!

Not to mention, Jelly Beans are very popular during Easter. This would a great to witness to people and share the Jelly Bean Prayer with them but giving them jelly beans and this prayer. You can use this as a form of a gospel tract to hand out to people.

National Jelly Bean Day

Did you know that April 22 is National Jelly Bean Day. What a great way to witness and evangelize. Hand out these colored Jelly Beans and what each color means. We don’t have to just use this around Easter or National Jelly Bean Day, but we can use this everyday to witness to someone. It is much similar to the power bracelets with the colored beads.

Do you hand out jelly beans and witness to people? How well had that worked? Please share your experiences.

I talk about what Good Friday is. Good Friday is part of Holy Week that leads to Easter. This is the day Jesus Died on the Cross at Calvary. #GoodFriday #Easter

Dollar tree, to raise their prices again — In a recent earnings call, Dollar Tree, Inc. announced that it will be adjusting its price points for certain items yet again. Here are the key details:
  • 20th anniversary of the powerful film, “The Passion of the Christ.”
20th anniversary of the powerful film, “The Passion of the Christ.” In 2004, director Mel Gibson brought to the big screen a visceral and unflinching portrayal of the final hours of Jesus Christ. The film, aptly titled “The Passion of the Christ,” chronicles the agony, betrayal, arrest, torture, and crucifixion of Jesus. Here are some key points to reflect upon:
  • No Bones About It — Jesus is Alive!
The phrase ‘No Bones About It’ is often used as well to state a fact with no doubt meaning Christ arose from the dead His bones were never found! Jesus Christ is surely alive!
  • Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday)
Maundy Thursday we don’t hear about this day too much, especially as a Baptist. Holy Week, that starts on Palm Sunday, week before the resurrection of Christ. Maundy Thursday falls the day before Good Friday and Easter. This is just a short write up on this day. #MaundyThursday #HolyThursday
