Is Church Security Biblical?

Gatekeepers

The Bible does mention about gatekeepers. They were in charge of the gates of the house of the Lord, that is, the house of the tent, as guard. See 1 Chronicles 9:21-24, shown below.

21 Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was gatekeeper of the entrance of the tent of meeting. 22 All these who were chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds were 212. These were enrolled by genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer appointed in their office of trust. 23 So they and their sons had charge of the gates of the house of the Lord, even the house of the tent, as guards. 24 The gatekeepers were on the four sides, to the east, west, north and south.

Careful of the Flock

Even Acts 20:28-30 tells us to be careful of the flock.

28 Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. 29 I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; 30 and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after the

And More!

Plus in times before Jesus Christ, God used Wars and battles to protect His people.

How about Luke 11:21 – When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are undisturbed.

Remember no weapon can prosper over the Christian. (Isaiah 54:17). If we get killed for our faith, we didn’t die in vain. Those who lose their life for Christ will gain it! You can see that in the Four Gospels (Matthew 10:39; Matthew 16:25; Mark 8:35; Luke 9:24 & John 12:25).

Did you know know that October is Church Security & Safety Month.

So yes, we are to guard the church … Church Security is Biblical!

There does need to be proper training, I believe.
