When you say pie in the sky usually that means no worries that everything will be good with no troubles. Some people thing when they get saved, born again, that they will never have issues or troubles again. That is completely wrong!

I do not believe you can have a pie in the sky Christianity. We are told because the world prescuated Jesus, we will also be perscauted. The Devil will still attack us. Most of the time, we don’t notice this until after we are saved. The devil doesn’t attack his own, because he knows they are are his. The devil will go after God’s children and attack them.

If we lived in some countries, we would have it much harder and would be the target of destruction from the enemy.

John 16:33 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

θλῖψις thlipsis

Some translations will say troubles, afflicted or suffering instead of tribulation.

  1. a pressing, pressing together, pressure

  2. metaph. oppression, affliction, tribulation, distress, straits

Strongs G2347

So we won’t see a pie in the sky Christianity, but we can know that God will never leave us nor forsake us. He will be there with us in those times of distress. (Deuteronomy 31:6 and Hebrews 13:5)
