Hippo Day

Hippo is one of my wife’s favorite animals. The most famous Hippo is, Fiona, who was born January 24, 2017, at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden in Cincinnati, OH. We hope to finally get to see her this spring.

Hippo Day is held annually on February 15

Hippo is translates as River Horse in ancient Greek.

I am not sure when or how this holiday was started.

Maybe go to the Cincinnati Zoo or your local zoo and see the Hippos. Just keep in mind, if the temps are below a certain temperature, the hippos will have to stay inside.
