But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Ephesians 2:4-10

At Church, we have been in Ephesians and not that long ago, was in Ephesians 2. Going over how we too are rich in God. Rich here is not talking about monetary riches or prosperity false stuff either.

Our reward is not here on Earth, it will be our place in Heaven with our Heavenly Father.

In these verses you can see several attributes of God including …

  • Mercy
  • Love
  • Kindness
  • Patient

Because He loves us He is patient and merciful toward us. He gave us the best gift of all … His Son. If we accept His Son, Jesus Christ, we too are rich in Him.

We cannot get any of these benefits unless we accept His Son. That is how we gain the inheritance of eternal life. That is why when we accept Jesus, we become rightful heirs to the promise. We are adopted into the Family of God.
