God is Compassionate, Gracious … Attributes of God – Day 10 – In these verses from Exodus 34:5-7, we will find a lot of attributes of God in this challenge of the 31 Days of the Attributes of God.
5 The Lord descended in the cloud and stood there with him as he called upon the name of the Lord. 6 Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; 7 who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.”

First we see God is compassionate. I think of love and hugs. He cares for us. He is also gracious. He shows us grace. Then the list goes on with other attributes …
- Slow to Anger
- Abounding
- Love
- Kindness
- lovingkindness
- Forgiving
- Just
- Trustworthy
- Graceful
God loves and cares for us and He also is just. He won’t let sin go unpunished, as we talked about in a previous days challenge. We also know that God can be trusted. He will keep His word.
