Global Day of Prayer and Fasting amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic
This day of Prayer and Fasting started by the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA).
The WEA encourages you to pray to God that the crisis will pass quickly. If you cannot commit a full day, pick some activities and spend what time you have available to join us all in faith and hope, calling out to God for help.
Prayer and Fasting, reminds me of when the disciples where trying to heal a man but was unable. So they had Jesus do it and asked why they couldn’t do it. Jesus rely was this kind can only be done by prayer and fasting. Note the “AND”. So it took both praying and fasting.
But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Matthew 17:21
The COVI-19 could be the same way. It can only be done by Prayer and Fasting. Most of us are good with praying, but not many of us, myself included, are good on fasting part.
You can also update your Facebook profile picture with a WEA “I’m Praying” frame. To add it, go and “Update” your profile photo, choose “Add Frame” and search for “COVID19-Praying”. Click the frame, adjust your profile photo, choose your timeframe and click “Use as Profile Picture”. Voilà! Tell the world you’re praying in our time of trouble.
