Giving in marriage

The Bible tells us we know that were in the in the last days as people are giving in marriage. It seems people are too quick to marry someone. We are living in the end of times.

Giving in Marriage

I’m a single father and been dating and on talking stages of some women. It seems that most of these women that I was talking or went on dates with have got married, and I mean it has not been a year or more for most of them.

Giving in Marriage

People seem quick to marriage. I don’t believe they take the time to build a friendship first. They seem to just jump right into a marriage most without any thought. Most do it so they are not alone. But truly we are never alone if you are a child of God.

Yes you must be dating with marriage in mind but not marriage that soon. You should take time to get to know each other.

They don’t make sure that proofs in the pudding, that they have the right spiritual fruit, just because someone claims to be a Christian doesn’t make them one. They should should the fruit of the spirit.

I think this giving into marriage, is one reason divorce is high and the number of times people have been married. People are marrying without knowing the person they are marrying. Marrying too quickly!

Marriage is a life-long commitment to that person and to God. Something not to take lightly.

The Bible tells us the end is near when people are giving in marriage. I do believe that Jesus is coming soon and sooner than we all may think. No one knows the time, but we do know we are living in the end of times based on people giving in marriage because that is when the coming of the Son of Man will be like these two Bible verses below.

The Greek word for Giving in Marriage (Matthew 24:38 & Luke 17:27, found in both scripture references below, is ἐκγαμίζω (ekgamizō). It means to give away into marriage: a daughter and to marry, to be given in marriage. The word is a verb, so it shows action. See Strong’s Lexicon #G1547.

Matthew 24:37-39

But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Luke 17:22-30

Then He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them. For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day. But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

Carelessness

Part of this giving into marriage is because they are careless and not making sure the marriage is ordained by God. I believe most people do it because of the delight of sense as Matthew Henry Commentary said. It is more of an act of nature. Maybe some are giving in marriage for gain, gain of worldly things instead of seeking out their treasures in Heaven. They are marrying more for lust and not for love.

Most people forgo

Most forgo and never even think about or go to a form premarital biblical marriage counseling. This a great step to help make sure things are going to be a godly marriage that God did ordain it. It can help get things out before the marriage than after the marriage that will or might cause conflict later down the road.

If you are considering marriage, please playfully conciser it. Make sure it is ordain from God, because what God puts together let no man separate. Make sure you also attend a form of premarital biblical counseling, your pastor should be able to do this for you and more than likely what he would require before marrying you two.

Everyone is doing it!

We cannot say that it’s 2016 and everyone is giving in marriage …. WRONG!! The Bible clearly shows us that in the Days of Noah and even in the Days of Lot, people were giving in marriage. But if you remember, with Noah the judgement came the great flood. In the days of Lot the judgement came the destruction of Sodom.

Warned?

We cannot say that we were not warned! The Bible has already warned us that the Son of Man is coming and this is how we will know He is coming. But we must also remember that only God knows the day and the hour of the coming. Jesus nor the angels know. If someone tells you they know they are a liar. Only person that knows is God.

  1. It’s 2023 and I see single people today running into marriage without seeking Godly counseling with a Pastor or trusted elder. You need to ask the hard questions during dating and let the other person understand who I am in Christ . I’m a godly single woman taking a break from dating. I look at scripture and it says, it’s not good for man to be alone. On the other hand, Paul tells us to stay single like him there are enough troubles of the world. I’m going to seek the Lord and be about my Father’s business.
Great article thank you! God bless!
