From the Roof Tops

From the Roof Tops – Usually this involves us sharing a big important message to someone. What does the Bible say about roofs? #BGBG2 #Roofs

There are three Lexicons for Roof. See Chart Below.

There was one time, where men was hidden on the Rehab’s roof top.

But she had brought them up to the roof H1406 and hidden them in the stalks of flax which she had laid in order on the roof H1406 . So the men pursued them on the road to the Jordan to the fords; and as soon as those who were pursuing them had gone out, they shut the gate.
Now before they lay down, she came up to them on the roof H1406 , and said to the men, “I know that the Lord has given you the land, and that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land have melted away before you …

Joshua 2:6-9

Another time we know about King David went to the roof top of the palace and saw Bathsheba bathing naked. See 2 Samuel 11.

Now when evening came David arose from his bed and walked around on the roof H1406 of the king’s house, and from the roof he saw a woman bathing; and the woman was very beautiful in appearance.

2 Samuel 11:2

Another time, was when this man was lowered down from the roof, his friends wanted him to be healed and knew Jesus, who was below could heal their friend.

Being unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof G4721 above Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying. And Jesus seeing their faith *said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

Mark 2:4-5

Often, you saw where people felt unworthy to have Jesus under their roof, meaning in their home. See Matthew 8 and Luke 7.

In the Bible, roof is known as the housetop, top of the house or even a beam.

I saw this writing prompt and figured I would write about it. First, I looked up with the Bible showed for roof, as shown above. Now to my part of it.

Would we be hidden on a roof top? Lust on the roof top? Healed on the rooftop? Or would we shout the truth out?

193. From the Roof-tops: Imagine you could stand on a rooftop and broadcast a message to everyone below – what would you say?

Think Written

I think, hope to think, that I would be bold enough to share the gospel, loud and proud across the roof top for all to hear. Do we hear about people proclaiming from their roof tops today?

In the Bible, they did do things on the roof top. They made full house of the home including the roof top. I am sure they could have used theirs as a platform to share a message.

Today most of our roofs are angled to repel rain. It is hard for us to be up on a roof and stay there. Unless, it is of a business, which it usually is flat.

What would you share from the roof top?
