On their Facebook Page saying that Fla-Vor-Ice delivered a semi full of pops.

The post reads:

Thank you for this generous donation to our freeze pop drive!? Who’s next? Please help us make positive connections with kids this summer. You can drop off pops at any Lex Police location.

The Freeze Pops for Kids fundraiser will run until May 25.

This cool treat led by Officer Ryan Holland, a Neighborhood Resource Officer assigned to Central Sector, the idea is simple: connecting police and young people while sharing a frozen treat on a hot summer day. The freeze pops are taken to summer camps, city pools and other youth events.

The police department sought out donations of freezer pops to hand out to the children. During the week of May 18-25.

Last year they had a tremendous success, which saw residents, businesses and organizations donate more than 72,000 pops. This year’s goal is 100,000 freeze pops.

Freeze pop donations can be dropped off at any Lexington Police roll call or Police Headquarters during regular business hours. For ease of storage, the department prefers unfrozen pops packaged in boxes, however any type of unfrozen pop will be accepted.

Monetary donations can be made online to the Lexington Police Foundation at https://www.lexpolicefoundation.org. The department asks the public to indicate “freeze pop fundraiser” in the comment section of the donation page.

This year is almost over, but you can still give for next year!

No word on how many freezer pops were collected for 2018! If you know feel free to share in the comments below.
