Free Guided First Hikes To Start 2016

Free Guided First Hikes, what a great way to spend the New Year and seeing the beautiful creation of nature that God created. This will be a great way to spend time with your family or fellowship with your youth and fellow church members.

I do like to hike, I just might do this and you never know, you might see me at one of these free guided first hikes. I would love to make it to one of these that are close by me. Walking and hiking are one of my two favorite activities.

“Our First Hikes have been very popular and we are excited to continue them as part of our series of statewide hikes,” said Deputy Commissioner for Parks and Conservation Brock Hill. “These hikes are a great way to kick off the New Year with friends and family while also enjoying our beautiful parks.”

Tennessee State Parks’ First Hikes of 2016 are part of America’s State Parks First Day hikes initiative in all 50 states. While some of the hikes will be throughout New Year’s Day at various times, others will begin on December 31, 2015 and go in to the New Year. Some hikes will be approximately one mile in length and tailored for novice hikers, while others are lengthier and geared toward more experienced hikers.

I shared this on the last blog post where Tennessee did free guided hikes.

I share this Bible verse with you. Creation is proof of a creator and no one is without excuse because of that.

See Romans 1:20

Steve’s Hiking Tips

  • Make sure you let someone know what trail you will be on, about what time you plan to start and stop. Remember most signals often are not reached on a cellular device. You may want to invest in a map and compass.
  • Always stay on the trail!
  • Take nothing but Pictures
  • Leaving nothing but foot prints
  • Basically leave no trace!
  • Do not litter, carry your trash with you
  • Do not feed the wildlife
I am sure there are more hiking tips I can add. If so, please feel free to comment them below or tell me about your experience in guided hiking.
