According to WhyChristmas

Frankincense has medical uses as well as to be used as a perfume. Also used for aromatherapy or even air fresher. You can even find it as an essential oil today.

It comes from a tree, Boswellia family. Myrrh also comes from a tree.

The word is an Old French expression franc encens, meaning “high-quality incense”.

It was also considered expensive back in Bible times and often used for trading for goods or services.

In aromatherapy it is said to help with breathing and clearing nasal passages. It can also help reduce or relieve stress and anxiety. Also helps with arthritis.
