Forbidden Fruit Church Sign

On April 28, 2016 while driving around in Jefferson City, TN, I saw this George Street United Methodist Church sign on forbidden fruit. I wanted to share with you my readers what this church sign had. It is an angled sign and had another message on the other angle. (Click to see the other angle)

Forbidden Fruit Church Sign

Forbidden Fruit Creates Many Jams! Proverbs 1:31

This church sign reads, “Forbidden Fruit Creates Many Jams! Proverbs 1:31”. Proverbs 1:31 reads, “Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.”

This shows that when we go for our own desires and not God’s desires that fruit will create jams you can say, this is not the yummy jam we put on biscuit or toast, but jams like a traffic jam. It will create a lot of problems too.

We should be baring the Fruit of the Spirit. The things that don’t go with the Fruit of the Spirit will destroy us and those things are the works of the flesh, where the flesh controls our desires and wants.

Just think of Adam and Eve, they ate of the forbidden fruit and it brought death to us all. That forbidden fruit brought judgement. Likewise, we are told what the forbidden fruit is and if we partake of that we will face judgement too. It is scary these forbidden fruits will prevent us from entering the kingdom of God. Check out Galatians 5:19-21 below.

We shouldn’t be characterized by these deadly forbidden fruit, that is living in these open sin. Yes we might slip up and fall, but we shouldn’t be living in these sins. Just because Christ died for us, doesn’t give us the license to sin.

Forbidden Fruit (Works of the Flesh)

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
