Eyes on the Road

Keep your eyes on the road. This is a very interesting video about texting and driving. Watch what happens to these local movie goers as they are watching a film and go to get their phones out. You don’t want to miss what happens.

This could happen in real life. So Don’t take your eyes off the road. This video I believe is a good lesson and a must watch for everyone!

Renee Miller, someone I went to high school with, had this video on her Facebook Wall and this is what she shared with it.

They should have this eye opening experience right before every movie. Maybe at least one person will walk out of the movie and change their ways.

Below is a church sign that will relate to this video I shared. Another way to make you realize to keep your eyes on the road.

Texting Church Sign

Texting can kill! I like a church sign I see often pop up on Facebook. It reads Honk if you love Jesus. Text while driving if you want to meet Him.

At the time of posting only 9 states have no laws about texting. The nine states that don’t ban texting while driving are Arizona, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota and Texas.  Tennessee is a state with a texting ban. Fines range from $50 plus court cost. Tennessee doesn’t ban driving and talking on a cell phone, however 14 states do.  The Tennessean I personally believe it should be higher. Maybe that will help curve texting and driving.

It takes 5 seconds to take your eyes off the road and look at your phone. If you were traveling at 55 mph, you would have traveled the length of a football field in those 5 seconds. Texting and Driving Safety

According to a Carnegie Mellon study, driving while using a cell phone reduces the amount of brain activity associated with driving by 37 percent. And a report from the National Safety Council found that more than one out of every four traffic accidents is caused by people talking on cell phones or sending text messages. “One Text or Call Could Wreck it All” 3,092 lives that were taken because someone decided they could do two things at once.

Think of it this way, just in the Blink of an Eye, everything can change. Just that one split second, that blinking of the eye. They eye that wondered to peak at the cell phone. I hope this video and this church sign has helped to inform you and inspired or even scared you to where you will keep your eyes on the road.

Also if you did die while texting, would you be prepared to meet Jesus? We are never promised tomorrow. That is why it is important to get right with the Lord right now. Today is the day of salvation. In that blink of an eye, we may not be on Earth anymore and facing judgement for all our actions. Are  you ready for that? Can you truly say that you accepted Jesus and repented of your sins, that you are covered by the blood of Jesus?

By the way, this can work as an analogy. If keep take our eyes off of Jesus, look what happens. Remember Peter took his eyes off Jesus and began to sink in the water, but when he focused his eyes back on Jesus, he was able to walk with Him. Just that split second with our eyes of Jesus, can lead to trouble, just the same as that split second with our eyes off the road can lead us to serious trouble, a car wreck, majorly injured or even death of us, or someone else!
