Almost like old times, like going to a drive-in movie but for church. You gather in your cars in parking lot and tune in to a special radio broadcast or row down your windows to listen.

You stay in your car during the service. Often you’ll see the pastor and praise band in front of you. You may see hands raised out of the windows, t-tops, sunroofs etc.

Thoughts?

I’ve not got to experience a drive-in church, but if you have feel free to share your experience in the comments.

Update: Drive-In Worship Rules

I saw this meme on Facebook with some rules to follow …

We ask women not leave afghans overnight to reserve a parking space

We ask that members kindly not arrive early to park on the back row

We ask you not to recline your dear during the sermon

We kindly ask you not to blow the car horn as an ‘amen’

We ask that you not to start the engine and leave during the invitation.

More Rules for Drive-In Church

  • Do not pass an offering plate, consider online giving.

Any other rules that should be added?

Feel free to add in the comments below.

update: Some states are cracking down and banning or fining those who attend a Drive-In Church service. Check with your local laws due to the COVID-19 social distancing. Mississippi being one of those states.
