Don’t just go to church … be the Church

Don’t just go to church … be the Church. Yes, they are two different things, going to church and being the Church.

This weeks Theological Tuesday talks about being the Church

Don’t just go to church … be the Church. Yes, they are two different things, going to church and being the Church.

I am talking about the captial C, Church, as in the body of Christ. We are the body of Christ. Each of us has a part to do. This includes going to the people. Serving the people. Meeting their needs. Witnessing to them. Sharing the love of Christ.

I also want to point out that the Youth and children aren’t future of the church … They are the Church too! That means they are the Church, Presently too.

If the Church was doing its job, there would be no need for people to be on Food Stamps, Homeless, Etc. We the Church are suppose to meet the needs of the people.

Jesus went to the people! We must do the same!

We must learn to forgive too!

Everyone we come in contact with was ordained by God. That means we have a chance to witness or help that person in someway. This includes inviting them to church. It is not the job of the pastor to do that. It is our job!

Again, the church building where you meet is not the church. The body of believers is the Church. Anyone can come and destroy a church building. A building won’t last either! But our souls do!

We are to win souls and that also means serving people. Church isn’t what can I get out of it. Church is what can I give back for God. When we go to church to get, we show our selfishness. But when we go to serve and give back we show our selflessness.

Serve the Lord with gladness! Jesus came and served us with gladness … to the point of dying on the Cross for us.
