Don’t Be Fuelish – Road Signs of the Bible

Sometimes we can be Fuelish when it comes to putting fuel or gasoline in our vehicles for machinery your lawn and garden equipment. We may put the wrong type of fuel inside. We may mistakenly put in diesel when we should have put gasoline or we may have put in gasoline when we should have put in diesel. Sometimes we may put in ethanol gas when we should have not the gas that doesn’t. Putting in the wrong type of fuel can damage a car, machinery, etc.

[pullquote]Don’t Be Fuelish! Fuel up on the Word of God so you will know when someone is trying to pass bad or the wrong kind of fuel into you.[/pullquote] In this blog post of Road Signs of the Bible, I want to talk about not being Fuelish. I know this one doesn’t use a road sign, but it still goes with the series cause it still on the same means in a sense. Do we really need a road sign to tell us this?

We can’t be Fuelish with those equipment just like ourselves we must put the right fuel in our bodies. Like proper foods and waters. But also our spiritual fuel. We fill up on the renewal of God’s Word the Bible. That’s why it’s important to study regularly and be active in fellowship with fellow Christians. Only the Word of God is the true fuel for our bodies not any self help books nor drugs or alcohol. Our only answer is Christ! Christ alone! He is the only way to the Father. So don’t be Fuelish! Fill up on the Word of God! Read your Bible. Remember we make te for what’s important in life. Do you make time for Christ? He mind te for us to die on the cross for our sins.

Filling Up with God’s Fuel, the Word of God will help us to not sin against Him. It will help us keep His commandments. Plus it will help us know when we are doing right or when we are doing wrong. Plus staying in the Word with the right fuel will help you know when a false doctrine comes along, the false, bad or wrong fuel comes along to try to fill you up. You will know right away this isn’t the fuel I need. This isn’t the True Word of God.

Check out what 2 Timothy 3:14-17 says.

14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Take a look at Psalm 119:11

Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.

  1. That continual flow of the word of God in our hearts will keep us strong and healthy and we will never run out of energy to do what He calls us to do.  We will walk and run fulfilling His word and He will always lead us by still waters where we can fill up!  Great insights Steve.

  2. What a great analogy.  I’ve read in articles that FUEL (Gas) STATIONS are regularly checked by various States for diluted fuel–water that has accumulated in the bottom of the tanks, thus “watering” the fuel down. Oh, how often do we hear the Word of God being “watered” down–diluted making the word-fuel less effective in the spiritual tank.

    1. Yeap it is a good analogy. That’s true too we do hear a watered down gospel sometimes because pastors want to fill the pews or tickle people’s ears. Some are afraid of offending people.
