They paid the debt of the families who fell into the hardship category to help promote their Easter service. They usually do something big to help promote that service and this year, they went to help families with their medical debt.

“We’re Pathway Church. We may never meet you, but as an act of kindness in the name of Jesus Christ, your debt has been forgiven.”

Pathway Church Note to the families

They even sent a letter out to the families letting them know their debt was paid and even saying, you may never come to our church, but we wanted you to know, you do not have to worry about that debt anymore.

RIP purchases medical debt for pennies on the dollar. Therefore, one penny could pay off $1 of debt; $1 can pay off $100 and $100 can pay off $10,000.

“Jesus did the same thing on the cross when He declared ‘it is finished.’ The debt of our sins, that we could not pay, had been forgiven! Tetelestai. It is finished. Paid in full.”

I think maybe more churches should do this. This is a prime example of the church being the church. Meeting the needs of the people.

On another note, another church in Maryland, Revolution Annapolis, paid nearly $2 million in medical bills from RIP and helped around 900 families across the 14 counties.
