Children: From Stepping on Toes to Stepping on Heart

You As your child gets older you seem to find they will step on your toes as they are young. They start to learn to walk and learn to do things. This learning process may cause your child to step on your toes. Then when they get older they step on your heart. They want to do things their way, despite if it goes against yours. They seem to want to cause you  stress or disobey just because they can rebel.

Children Step On Your Toes As A Child, Step On Your Heart As They Grow Up.

Children: From Stepping on Toes to Stepping on Heart

It Seems children can break their parent’s heart more than anyone else. I believe that is because of the bond we have with our children, it is like no other bond.

I think that’s because we want the best for our children. When your child disobeys it hurts us. They forget to honor thy Father and Mother part of Gods commandment.

When it comes to punishing your child, it’s like the old saying “this is gonna hurt me more than you” when it comes to scolding your child is actually true. But the Bible does say correcting your child shows you love them, Proverbs 13:24. Granted you don’t want to resort to it but you have to out of love.

Our children still do things to make us proud, but then they do things that upset us too, but children have been doing this for a long time, even in the Bible with the Prodigal Son. See Luke 15:11-32

But let’s think if this same way with God. I’m sure as we are a young Christian we tend to step on Gods toes as we learn, but as we mature and know what God expects we break His heart by living in sin and disobeying Him. God also corrects us when we do wrong. God has a bond with us, He loves us so much even when we do wrong.  I am sure we also give grace to our children when they do wrong to us, God also gives us grace too.

Next time your child steps on your toes or your heart, remember we do the same thing to God, our Heavenly Father.
