The grass isn’t always greener on the other side

The grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Sometimes the grass is fake! Other times it looks appealing but not good for us.

The grass isn’t always greener on the other side

We all tend to think things are always better on the other side. But most of the time they are not better for us. The greener side can look appealing to us. It might entice us too. More than like that greener grass is fake or it is not good for us.

The Other Side is Fake

If it is greener on one side and not the other … Sometimes that it might be fake. It might be fake like artificial turf that football players often play on. Other times that greener grass is fake because of additives to make it seem greener. Who knows, someone may have even painted that grass a better looking green too. None, the less, when it is fake it is not real. It might look real to us. Our eyes can play tricks on us. Just liked the curved gospel track.

The Other Side is Not Good For Us

Just because the grass is greener on the other side doesn’t make it better for us. Just like sin, it might look appealing to us, but it’s not. It often can do the most damage to us when we partake in it. People always think the devil looks like this evil creature. But, in reality the devil looks like the most beautiful thing you could ever image. We can’t be tempted by things that don’t look pretty right? Before we know it, we are far into the other side and we find out that it is both a trap and not good for us.

Sodom, An Example

Lot when he was looking off at the distance. He say Sodom and thought it looked very appealing. You can say the grass was greener on the other side. Little did he know the sinful natures of the city that would later lead to the destruction of that city by fire and brimstone from God. As you can see, Lot desired something that looked more appealing. That appealing nature of Sodom was both fake and not good for him. This is another story you can read in the Book of Genesis.

It All Withers

One thing to keep in mind. All grass will wither at one time. Granted you have real grass and not fake grass. Even the fake grass can be destroyed too. Check out what 2 Peter 1:24-25 says. “All flesh is like grass, And all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers , And the flower falls off , But the word of the Lord endures forever.” This verse comes back from the Old Testament in Isaiah 40:8. This reminds us that the grass is not always greener on the other side and that grass will wither. The one thing we can count on is God. It might look good to us but remember it’s temporary. When we want to look at the other wide, we must seek out and see if it is God’s way on that other side.
