Drum Solo – Learn about the Drummer Boy

Mary, exhausted, having just gotten Jesus to sleep, is approached by a young man who thinks to himself; what this girl needs is a drum solo.

Anyways does the Bible mention a boy playing the drum for baby Jesus?

Drum Solo is a way to say Christmas Carol Spotlight.

It is not found in the Bible, no boy drumming is found in the Bible. See what the Bible does say about drums.

The Little Drummer Boy” is a popular Christmas song written in 1941. It was originally known as “Carol of the Drum” and is based on a traditional Czech carol. Composed by Katherine Kennicott Davis in 1941. First recorded in 1951 by the Trapp Family Singers.

Some do say that this echoes the widow mite, the lady who gave all she had. Likewise, this poor drummer boy only had his drum so he played it for Jesus. (See Mark 12:41–44, Luke 21:1–4)

Again, this is not in the Bible the drummer boy.

I like what Basic College Ministries said …

We as children of God are like this little drummer boy. We see all these other Christians who have other “gifts” that are thought of as cool and more exciting. But you see, God is more focused on your heart than the gift. The little boy had nothing, all he had was himself and he laid it before the king. We need to realize that God loves us so much that his desire to come humbly before the throne of grace and say “Father, here I am, I have very little to give, but I am yours to use for your glory.” When we come to the realization that God is so loving and so good and desires your gift from the heart, you will begin to understand the way the Father sees you; as His child.

Maybe this can remind us this boy gave all he had for Jesus, just like God gave us the Greatest Gift ever, His Son, Jesus Christ. (First Published November 2020. Last updated or republished December 17, 2023.)

My favorite version of the Little Drummer Boy is by For King and Country.

20th anniversary of the powerful film, “The Passion of the Christ.” In 2004, director Mel Gibson brought to the big screen a visceral and unflinching portrayal of the final hours of Jesus Christ. The film, aptly titled “The Passion of the Christ,” chronicles the agony, betrayal, arrest, torture, and crucifixion of Jesus. Here are some key points to reflect upon:

Maundy Thursday we don’t hear about this day too much, especially as a Baptist. Holy Week, that starts on Palm Sunday, week before the resurrection of Christ. Maundy Thursday falls the day before Good Friday and Easter. This is just a short write up on this day. #MaundyThursday #HolyThursday

Why do we go searching for Christ as if He is lost and someone to be found. We have it wrong it’s the other way around, Christ is seeking us who is lost so we can be found!
