We went to the Morristown, TN AMC at the 6:10 showing. We were the only two in the movie watching it. However, the next showing seemed to have a small amount of people already waiting to go see it. This movie came out April 13, 2018 in theaters. This film is based on a true story and is rated PG. Parent Guidances is suggested.

Synopsis
SGT. STUBBY: AN AMERICAN HERO is a computer-animated feature film based on the incredible true story of America’s most decorated dog. After being rescued off the streets by a young Soldier on the eve of America’s entry in World War I, Stubby is given a home, a family, and the chance to embark on the adventure that would define a century.
About Sgt. Stubby
Being the most decorated dog in the Army, Sgt. Stubby also has a Purple Heart.
The 102nd Infantry Regiment – part of the 26th “Yankee” Division – was drilling on the grounds of Yale University. Private First Class J. Robert Conroy noticed a small brindle mutt wandering around the field, watching the Soldiers and searching for scraps of food. Conroy and his fellow doughboys developed a fondness for the dog, giving him a name that matched his unassuming personality and short, constantly-wagging tail: Stubby.
Sergeant Stubby (1916 or 1917 – March 16, 1926) was a dog who was te official mascot of the 102nd Infantry Regiment (United States), assigned to the 26th (Yankee) Division. He served for 18 months and participated in seventeen battles on the Western Front. He saved his regiment from surprise mustard gas attacks, found and comforted the wounded, and once caught a German soldier by the seat of his pants, holding him there until American soldiers found him. His actions were well-documented in contemporary American newspapers.
My Review
My wife and I both enjoyed this cartoon based on a true story very much. At times I forgot I was watching a cartoon, as some of the animation seemed life like. I felt this film allowed you to learn a lot about Sgt. Stubby through Robert Conroy’s sisters (Margaret). Conroy wrote his sister and she narrated the story based on those letters and news articles too.
This movie is rated PG, Parent Guidance is suggested. That is due to war scenes. Not to mention, you don’t see blood or guts like most war type movies, but you get implied ideas of what happened in some scenes.
You will see the story unfold of how this stray mut turned into a War Hero. Plus, You will see the great lovable courage he had too. Even friendships being made of people of other culture backgrounds.
You will hear about God Blessing and a mention of prayer in the movie too.
My wife says this movie does show you a good bit of History of World War I (WWI) in this film as well.
You will hear speaking in French and German, with no subtitles. I guess that is to make you think you are there in the battlefield.
I recommend watching Sgt. Stubby!

I didn’t get anything for this review. I used free tickets I had for AMC to watch this movie with my wife. We enjoyed this movie so much we wanted to share it.
