‘The Little Folks Painting Book’ was the first established coloring book in the 1800’s by the McLoughlin Brothers. Today that are some many we cannot count them all.

National Coloring Book Day

“A box of new crayons! Now they’re all pointy, lined up in order, bright and perfect. Soon they’ll be a bunch of ground down, rounded, indistinguishable stumps, missing their wrappers and smudged with other colors. Sometimes life seems unbearably tragic.”

– Bill Watterson

In 1941, Dover Publications released their first coloring book for adults, Antique Automobiles Coloring Book, in 1970. Dover now publishes Creative Haven®, a popular line of coloring books specially designed for adult colorists. It wasn’t until 2015 where they had it added to calendars to be celebrated annually on August 2.

My mom enjoys Adult Coloring Books. She and a group of people will get together and color.
