“Religion without a personal encounter with Jesus Christ will not save the soul, and it will not bring the peace that your soul longs for. Millions are searching for God through religion and not finding it. You’ve got to know Christ for yourself, and when you come to know Christ for yourself there’s a peace and a fulfillment, and life takes on a purpose, and there’s a sense of forgiveness of your sins, and there’s a joy unspeakable and full of glory. You may be a member of some other religion. You may be Catholic, Protestant, Jewish. You may be Hindu, Muslim…whatever your background…you may not have any religion. You come to Christ. I’m not asking you to come to a particular church. I’m asking you to come to the person of Jesus Christ.”

Flushing Meadows Corona Park, New York, June 25, 2005

“Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.’ And then he said an interesting thing: ‘No man comes to the Father except through me.’ That’s the way to God, is through Jesus. In Acts the fourth chapter he says, ‘Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we can be saved.’ You know, Buddha said at the end of his life, ‘I’m still searching for truth.’ Jesus is the truth. He is the life.”
