A secular proverb seeks to state a general (not absolute) truth. The proverbs in The Book of Proverbs has divine inspiration because they came from God. They are true and inspirational guiding us to eternal life. 3

A proverb is a wise saying or a short and popular saying.2

A repeated theme in this Book of Proverbs is Fear of God, meaning the submission to the will of God or a reverence to God. Plus how to gain wisdom, the Proverbs Challenge is a good way to read this Book of the Bible.

The Book of Proverbs gives you great insight on how to live your life according to what God wants, how to gain wisdom and much more.

There is exactly 31 Chapters in the Book of Proverbs. I took one chapter per day and made a blog post about it. See below each chapter. Please read that chapter first before reading the blog entry on that chapter. Feel free to comment on each chapter on your take too.  So make sure you follow Courageous Christian Father so you won’t miss what I share about that chapter that day. I will do this for the next 31 days, taking one chapter per day.

Don’t Read it to Just Read it!

Don’t read Proverbs just to read it or say I have read that book in the Bible. Take your time to reflect on each chapter in this book and each verse inside the chapters. Reflect and allow God to show you what is going on. The Proverbs Challenge is more of a reflection than just a conquer reading!

You can read the Book of Proverbs at Bible Gateway online or in your own Bible.

20th anniversary of the powerful film, “The Passion of the Christ.” In 2004, director Mel Gibson brought to the big screen a visceral and unflinching portrayal of the final hours of Jesus Christ. The film, aptly titled “The Passion of the Christ,” chronicles the agony, betrayal, arrest, torture, and crucifixion of Jesus. Here are some key points to reflect upon:
  • No Bones About It — Jesus is Alive!
The phrase ‘No Bones About It’ is often used as well to state a fact with no doubt meaning Christ arose from the dead His bones were never found! Jesus Christ is surely alive!
  • Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday)
Maundy Thursday we don’t hear about this day too much, especially as a Baptist. Holy Week, that starts on Palm Sunday, week before the resurrection of Christ. Maundy Thursday falls the day before Good Friday and Easter. This is just a short write up on this day. #MaundyThursday #HolyThursday
  • Searching for Christ
Why do we go searching for Christ as if He is lost and someone to be found. We have it wrong it’s the other way around, Christ is seeking us who is lost so we can be found!
  • Spy Wednesday
Spy Wednesday or known as Holy Wednesday or even known as Great and Holy Wednesday. Sometimes known as Good Wednesday. This is the Wednesday that leads up to Easter. Part of Holy Week. #SpyWedneday #HolyWednesday #GoodWednesday
