Big Kahuna Wings (BKW) – is this week’s Travel Thursday. – We visited the location by West Town Mall in Knoxville, TN. This is a local company based in Knoxville area. My wife and I was out and said let’s try somewhere new and this is where we ended up! #BKW #BigKahunaWings
We had a very friendly waitress, Morgan. She took great care of us. We ordered each 5 wings, total of 10. Plus the Pig Fries.
Pig Fries
Man these pig fries, were very yummy. They are made with french fries, their base dry rub seasoning. Then it is topped with cheese, pulled pork and bacon. I have to say that is the best fry mix appetizer that I have ever had!
Wings
They don’t coat their wings in the sauces. They put them on the side and have a variety of sauces you can try, including up-charge for a flight of sauces. However, they do a dry rub on their wings. They have two they use on all their wings. You can get the original, which is what we got, or a spicier one. I plan to try my next time.
I like the flats of chicken wings, I ordered that, I had to have a one dollar up-charge for doing that. Which some wing places do and some don’t. They happen to do that.
Okay, back to the wings. Both my wife and I enjoyed the wings very much! They dry rub on them was very good. I didn’t think they really needed any dipping sauce. They were good as they were.
They give you celery and carrots with the order of wings.
Sauces
My wife got the mango and enjoyed it. She said, she could tell they used pulsed up real mango in it. I got the spicy garlic. The taste was good and had a kick, but I just preferred to eat my wings without sauce. When, we go back, I will try the spicier dry rub. (When I do, I will add to this blog post about that!)
Check out what the inside looks like below!
I would have to say this is my new favorite place for wings. They are even better than my other favorite wing place, Good Ole Days in Morristown, TN.
I know I will be back to eat at BKW! I do recommend you go and try their wings!
We were not given anything for this review. We paid for our own meals.
