Back to the Future II

As a child I remember watching the Back to Future movies. There were three of them. Back to Future I (1985), Marty McFly goes back to the time his parents were a teenager. In Back to the Future II (1989), he goes into the future to see his children from 1985 to 2015. October 21, 2015 actually. Then in Back to the Future III (1990), McFly goes in the past, the Wild West Past, this time they went back 100 years to 1885.

One thing to notice is the 30 year time gap on the first two movies. McFly we back to 1955 from 1985 in Back to the Future I and then 30 years into the future from 1985 to 2015 in Back to the Future II. Dr. Emmett Brown invented a time machine, DeLorean. It used a flux capacitor to enable this science fictional car to travel in a time continuum, either the past or the future.

I go back in time, no pun intended, to reminisce the movie, Back to the Future II. I think back at what they said we would have in 2015. Did we get what the movie portrayed we would have? This may show us that we never know what the future holds. I also actually seeing them doing a remake of these Back to the Future movies.

So do you remember watching Back to the Future II? Where McFly goes into the future to October 21, 2015? In the movie it showed we would have flying cars in 2015. It was a time if where we are going, we don’t need roads. We don’t have that yet, but I heard some are in prototype stages. Then there was the hoverboard. A Skateboard with then wheels that would hover over the ground. We don’t have a hoverboard yet. But I bet now that 2015 is here, someone will try to make it.

Some other things were the self-lacing Nike shoes. Also self drying clothes.

In the movie, it does show the Chicago Cubs won the world series. Ironically, the Cubs are in the play offs in 2015. Will they actually win the World Series? But, if you notice, according to the movie, the World Series was already done with by October 21, 2015. Which, we know is not the case. The World Series will be held October 27 to possibly November 7, 2015 (If 7 games are needed to be played). The 2015 World Series will be the 111th edition of Major League Baseball’s championship series.

We cannot trust movies or people with telling us the future.

Only God holds the future. We must trust in Him.

One thing to know is God will not allow us to travel forward in time nor back in time. These movies are not Christian or Faith based movies either. I just wanted to make a blog post about this, what they predicted for 2015 from the 1980’s. As you can see there were no where close to it.

If they wanted to get it right, maybe had people with their face stuck into cell phones, tablets and computers. They didn’t show such devices. This prediction just goes to show you, that no one can predict the future.

God though is not bound by time! He is the keeper and holder of time. God always existed and will always exist. God is the creator of everything. God even set the sun dial back 10 degrees. See Isaiah 38:8

The other thing to point out is that we are living in the last days. Jesus will return anytime. No one knows not even these ones who claim they do. (See Matthew 24:36 and Mark 13:32) We cannot hop into a time machine and find out either.

God holds the past, present and future. God gives a chance for a future life with Him in Heaven, if we accept His Son Jesus Christ and repent!
