The Back Roads

This blog post is an older blog post, but I believe will go well with the Road Signs of the Bible Series. So I am republishing this blog post.

I may be able to know some back roads from going from Jefferson City to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. These back roads may save you time, traffic and hassle to get to your destination. Sometimes the back roads are the roads that are more dangerous. They are usually really curvy, steep inclines or declines. Also, if you get lost in the back roads its harder to get someone out to you to help you if you get lost or break down.

The Back Roads

To get to Heaven we cannot use back roads. There’s only one road to Heaven. That road is Jesus Christ. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). The Road to Jesus is a straight and narrow road. If you get lost on it, Jesus can reach out and bring you back on the travel. Not only is that a one way road to heaven but it’s a narrow road. The gate to enter is very narrow (Matthew 7:13-14).

The next time you are traveling the back roads take some time to reflect on the road to Jesus. How is my path going. Am I on the straight and narrow path, or am I on the wide, curvy, steep road? Make sure you are on the road that leads to Jesus. Jesus is coming soon. Remember we are not promised tomorrow and today is the day of salvation. (Proverbs 27:1 – Matthew 6:34 – 2 Corinthians 6:2) Jesus could come any moment! No one knows the when. (Mark 13:32 & Matthew 24:36)

Don’t think I will clean myself up first, you can’t! Jesus is the one that cleanses you with his blood. His blood he shed for our sins.

As I have spent some time working on this blog post a notice Anthony Ingram, Facebook friend of mine quoted this on his Facebook wall …

If all roads won’t lead you to a specific location on earth, WHY would you think that all roads lead you to God?

Thanks Anthony for that quote it fits well with this post.

Plus here is another one I saw while on Facebook by Jesus Strength Page.

Stay on the pathway towards God! Don’t detour and don’t take shortcuts, just trust that He is the way and He will lead you.

On earth the back roads may seem helpful to get to our destination. But in Heavenly paths, the back roads lead to destruction (hell). So try to avoid the roads that take you off path from Jesus. Don’t take detours or shortcuts. Follow Him and He will lead you down the pathway to Heaven. His glorious kingdom. Also remember church or church membership won’t save you. That road you take, is a personal relationship with Jesus. You walk with him and you talk with him! Now I didn’t say the road would be easy, but Jesus is with us the whole way.
