Adventure Ranch

It’s much more than a corn maze it’s an adventure at Adventure Ranch. Adventure Ranch is located on Andrew Johnson Highway in Morristown close to the Talbott/Alpha area. It is just inside the Hamblen County near the Jefferson County/Hamblen County line.

I got to go review then the second weekend they were open since I was busy the first grand opening weekend. This is a brand new family fun event. Adventure Ranch is owned by the same people who do Fright Manor, a popular Haunted House Adventure.

Petting Zoo

First my daughter and I went to the petting zoo area. They have chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats, pigs, baby calves donkey and more. Even a big dog too! You can feed these animals. We were the first ones in there, so they all were sticking their heads out waiting for feed. The keeper told us that the dog loves the ice cream cone that the feed comes in you can feed the animals. Make sure you keep your hand flat as you feed them. Oh yea, they have fun animal facts inside the petting area. You can talk about the Creation story here at the Petting Zoo area.

The Petting Zoo was my daughters favorite part.

Nature Trail

Then we went to the Nature Trail and did the nature hike, as you walk through the trail, you come to spots in the trail and spin the wheel. What ever the wheel lands on you and your group must do what it says to do.  My daughter said she wished the trail was a big longer, but it was still good.

Games

Then we headed over to the games area. We played giant checkers. I won of course. They also have Corn Hole, but we didn’t play that game.

Fire Truck

The Adventure Ranch owns a fire truck. I was told Chris, the owner, bought it on eBay and won. He drove it from Syracuse, NY to Adventure Ranch. The truck is on display at Adventure Ranch. Adventure Ranch allows the Lakeway Area Fire Department to use it to fight fires in Hamblen, Jefferson and Sevier Counties.

You can even sit inside this fully functional firetruck. You can sit in the back cab area, or up front in the passenger or driver seats. Plus, they powered on the truck and allowed you to blow the horn and the sirens. I think it made the day of these two little boys watching them operate the sirens and horns. They were just glowing inside that fire truck.

Hamster Wheels

Then we got in the big black hamster wheels. I think I was a bit tall for it. But, it also made me a bit dizzy, but it was interesting, none the less.

Corn Maze

The Corn Maze is sponsored by Chick-fil-A. It was GPS Cut, and cut to the shape of the Chick-fil-A Cow and the Adventure Ranch Logo. My daughter and I didn’t get lost in this corn maze, but we did turn around and go back and around. We did complete the whole maze and solved the Farm Scene Investigation. I won’t tell you what animal done it, with what weapon or where, because that is up to you to go to the maze and solve this Clue like maze mystery.

Super Slide

I went down one of the super slides. You take a burlap sack and ride down the big hill to the bottom. It was actually fun going down this slide. Toward the bottom, you might be in for a little twist as the slide may cause you to do a little spin. Chris told me, yea we designed it that way, yea. But it does add to an awesome affect going down the slide.

Adventure Leap

I was watching people do the adventure leap. Some of them from the Skyview Leap. You must be 18 or older for that leap. Then the Lower Tower deck, this is where the kids jump down. Watching those going down, the girls were scared to jump, while the little boys just jumped.

The Adventure Leap is not included with the general package, that I was given for this review. Chris was standing buy and asked if I wanted to try it. So he let me up on the Lower Deck. I got to take a leap. My daughter took a video of me jumping. I got up there, looked down and just leaped. I didn’t want to stall doing it. I would do it again. I would actually like to try the Skyview. It was still heart pounding jumping from the Lower Tower.

On the Lower Tower, you just leap away from the tower and land on your bottom or your back. No flipping, horse playing, etc.

Maybe a good Bible Lesson on the Adventure Leap is taking a Leap of Faith for God. Not question question what you are doing, but trust God and have faith that He will protect and take care of you.

Pumpkin Checkers

We end the corn maze and end up inside where they have snacks. They even have a giant rocking chair you can sit and take some pictures. Plus, Pumpkin Checkers. So my daughter and I played again. They have tiny Orange and White Pumpkins. Great way to spend a Tennessee Vol Saturday playing Pumpkin Checkers. I won again in checkers.

The Rest …

We didn’t go to the giant beach balls, but these are giant! They are taller than me. They are huge or gianormous, at Buddy the Elf would say. We didn’t do the Half Pike Slides. Those looked like for the younger kids. So if you have young children, I am sure they will love that.

There were plenty of other things to see and do while you are at Adventure Ranch. Some things you will need to pay extra for stuff, but most part everything is included with the Best Value Combo.

Parking

Now this brings me to parking. Unlike other area corn mazes that offer free parking, Adventure Ranch charges $5 to park. Also note if you arrived early like I did, you park on the far end, not up close to the ticket gate. Plus if you arrive before 11 am, when they open, you must stay right in the parking area before you can go up to the ticket counter.

Bracelets

At the parking area we also each got a camouflaged bracelet with Adventure Ranch “Much More Than A Corn Maze” on it. That quote is right. There is more than just the corn maze to do. It is an adventure!

When you go tell them you heard about them from Courageous Christian Father!
