Aarrrgh is one of the defining words in our common psyche when we think of pirates.

In his blog post, he mentioned that there is no evidence that real pirates spoke those words. Most of the real pirates came from Irish, Welsh, and English.
Speaking Of pirates, I was told, I am not sure, not traced it yet, but I was told, I am related to Captain Cook, who sailed around Australia, New Zealand. According to WikiPedia … Captain James Cook FRS was a British explorer, navigator, cartographer, and captain in the Royal Navy around 1755. (Around 221 years before I was born!)
Of course the word could be short in length or very long. That would draw out or shorten the A’s and R’s in the word.
Okay, now let’s talk about that pirate word ☠️ …
September 19, is International Talk Like A Pirate Day.
I use to have an old license plate registered to me that the alpha letters were RRR. True story! I didn’t even request that. It was the random one given to me at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
Updated: I found that plate in my old junk.
As I was just posting this picture, a random memory came to my mind. Odd how things make a flash back. Anywho …
I remember this man asked me if I was a pirate. I had now clue what he meant, I was like no. Then he said “Aaaarrrrgh!”
I had no clue. Until some time later, I saw back of my car I had then and was like oh now I get why that man was saying that.
Those plates are from the very late 1990’s. I was in my late teens to early twenties. (18 to 21) I don’t remember the year, but can guess pre-1998.
