An Inmate survives death row twice

An Inmate survives death row twice. I have seen an article floating around about an inmate in Dickson, TN who survives two attempts at execution. This article got me thinking. If a person can survive that, that would be a miracle and I would believe that God was not finished with them. Wouldn’t you agree?

Below is a short part of the article from Empire News.

An Inmate survives death row twice

A Tennessee death row inmate has been released from prison today after two attempts to execute him have failed. Peter Farmington was convicted of 3 counts of murder in the first degree when he pled guilty to murdering his wife and their two young children in March of 2006.2

Is this a true story? Let’s dig just a little. I like to use Snopes.com.

First I would say that is very highly unlikely, but if it did happen that God did that. With man it is impossible, but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26 & Mark 10:27)

[pullquote]“We are taking it as a sign from God that this man is just not meant to die.”  [/pullquote]

I would also have to say if that happened then God wasn’t done with that person. That person would have an awesome testimony. I know that God would use this person to help benefit the kingdom in some way. It also could show that if we truly repent (turn away from our sins) that there is nothing that God won’t forgive.

In the article the warden says,“a divine intervention.”

There is another quote by Goldsmith in the article that reads, “We are taking it as a sign from God that this man is just not meant to die.”

It also has this quote, claiming to be from Bill Haslam, “This man may be a bloodthirsty, violent individual, but some higher power has given him a second chance at life. We certainly hope he uses it for something better this time around.”

These above quotes would make this article sound legit.

Now to reality … This news article is false. According to Snopes.com it tells you that Empire News’s disclaimer on their web site states that their stuff is for satirical and entertainment. 1 Satire means humor. So they just put this up for giggles and grins. But, if this was true, it would be interesting story line. This goes to show that we cannot believe everything we see on the internet.

The only thing we can count on and believe is the Word of God!
