A.D. The Bible Continues (Sneak Peek Review)

I was given a free sneak peek of the first episode of A.D. The Bible Continues. This is the continuing story from the Bible Series. Starting at the crucifixion & resurrection of Jesus. I haven’t seen The Bible Series but reviews I have read and heard said it wasn’t Biblical. This blog post may be more of a spoiler if you haven’t seen it. I figured I would use this sneak peek opportunity I had to do a blog post review on it.

In this first episode I noticed that Pilot didn’t ask the people what they wanted to do with Jesus, he just heard the crowd and then said crucify Him. Then, it jumps to Jesus already been flogged and they were nailing Him to the cross. So I have noticed that it skipped a lot. On the Cross Jesus Said My God My God why has though forsaken me. Then later He said it is finished, but you never saw where they tried to give Him the reed of sour vinegar. It took awhile for it to get dark too.

You did get to see the veil of the temple rip.  They did take the spear into his side to confirm his death. The show also showed Judas hanging himself. I also never saw the Sanhedrin say Truly this is the Son of God. Pilot’s wife does share her dreams of the Messiah with Pilot. Peter denying Christ is shown too.

Remind you this is Hollywood trying to bring money into something Biblical, but not keeping totally true to the Bible. But maybe it will give some knowledge of Jesus to people that may not know who He is. But it won’t give the full picture. They seem to leave a lot out in the telling of the story and dramatically added stuff in as pluff or filler.

The first episode shows the time of crucifixion, then the three day span. It ends by seeing an angel come down and removing the sealed stone over the tomb and the high priest is notified the Roman Seal has been broken and the Nazarene body gone.

I don’t think this one was that bad, I just wished they added in these things that I mentioned. I am not sure if I will watch the complete series or not. I still haven’t even seen The Bible The Series the first set of these.

“A.D. The Bible Continues” premieres on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 at 9 Eastern, 8 Central on NBC. Total run time of 42 minutes. I got to see it without commercials. I got to view this online via Klout. It was a Klout Perk that was given to this blog. The trailer is above.
