God’s Not Dead 2 Movie Review & Trailer

This is the trailer to the movie God’s Not Dead 2

Synopsis of the Movie

From the college classroom of GOD’S NOT DEAD to the public square in GOD’S NOT DEAD 2, the name of Jesus is welcomed less and less with each passing day. If Christians don’t take a stand today, will we even have a choice tomorrow?

Welcome back to Hope Springs … home not only of Hadleigh University, but also Martin Luther King Jr. High School, where beloved teacher Grace Wesley helps students understand and enjoy history. Her love of teaching, her love for her students, and her love of life all come from the same place: her love of Christ.

So when Brooke, a hurting student grieving the loss of her brother, reaches out to Grace, their coffee-shop conversation naturally leads to Grace sharing the hope she finds in Christ.

When Brooke later asks an honest question about Jesus in the classroom, Grace’s reasoned response lands her in big trouble—almost before she even finishes giving her answer.

With the principal and superintendent joining forces with a zealous civil liberties group, Grace faces an epic court case that could cost her the career she loves and expel God from the classroom—and the public square—once and for all!

GOD’S NOT DEAD 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the beloved Pure Flix movie from 2014 and features an all-star cast. Now on DVD, GOD’S NOT DEAD 2 has audiences standing proudly for what they believe … while they still can. Where will you stand?1

My Review of God’s Not Dead 2

I didn’t get to watch this movie in the theaters, I wanted for the DVD release. My mom bought me the movie for my birthday on August 6. My mom got the per-release certificate for pickup on the release date. So I went to pick up my copy on August 16, 2016 and watched it when I got home. I have to say it was a very moving and emotional movie. I will admit I did cry off and on throughout the movie. Others have told me they prefer the first movie, I however, prefer this one, God’s Not Dead 2.

[pullquote]I would rather stand with God and be judged by the world, than stand with the world and be judged by God. Grace Wesley[/pullquote]

This one puts a teacher on trial for mentioning Jesus in her classroom. During the trail they try to prove Jesus exists by using sources that are not Biblical sources. They even tell us that separation from the church and state is not in the constitution. It actually was to give protection to the church from the government.

I do believe they did a good job with this movie too. Both God’s Not Dead and God’s Not Dead 2 are great movies! Plus Do You Believe? was another great movie by the same people.

It was interesting to see, Melissa Joan Hart, play the role of Grace Wesley in God’s Not Dead 2. That is big difference from seeing her play on a t.v. show Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I guess similar to how God’s Not Dead had Kevin Sorbo, who use to play Hercules. Check out my review of God’s Not Dead 1

Just like the newsboys I want to plead Guilty!

In this movie the Newsboys features their song “Guilty” toward the end at a concert. Below is a portion of those lyrics. Check out the music video to Guilty by the Newsboys featuring scenes from God’s Not Dead 2.

When did it become breaking a rule
To say your name out loud in school
When your names the only one that sets us free
When did it become incorrect
To speak the truth about life and death
When your life gave us all eternity

Even if it gets me convicted
I’ll be on my knees with my hands lifted2

Book Mentions

They even had some books mentioned in this movie. A Case for Christ by Lee Strobel. It even had Man Myth Messiah by Rice Broocks. Plus, Cold‑Case Christianity By J Warner Wallace. None of these books I have read either.

Join the God’s Not Dead Movement

Just like the first movie, you are asked to text everyone you know. This time, in God’s Not Dead 2, the Newboys didn’t mention it, it was asked to do at the end of the movie with the closing credits. It also asked to take it a bit further. It asked us to add He’s Surely Alive! Not to mention, it asked to us tell everyone Silence is the enemy of truth! I will make Jesus Known. #TheHumanRight

God’s Not Dead! He’s Surely Alive! Silence is the enemy of truth! I will make Jesus Know. #TheHumanRight #GodsNotDead  #GodsNotDead2

I do believe they are leaving it open for a God’s Not Dead 3. If I had to guess, it would be where Pastor Dave goes to court over not turning in his sermon notes and he goes on trial.

Makes you think

This movie does make you think, how would be be able to stand if we faced a situation and put on trial. Would there be enough evidence to prove we are a Christian. Also, how well would we stand and continue to stand facing the world in a trail like that. Would you rather stand with God and be judged by the world or would you rather stand with the world and be judged by God? I personally, would stand with God.

I do highly recommend you watch God’s Not Dead and God’s Not Dead 2. Maybe watch the first one and then the second one. Make it a family night or a church night or youth group night with both movies!

I also believe this movie leads up to a God’s Not Dead 3. I believe I know what it would be about, but I won’t say that right now.

This movie review was done on my own accord. I wasn’t given a DVD to review it, it was given to me by my mom for my birthday.
