July 20th marks National Lollipop Day. National Lollipop Day, an “unofficial” national holiday, is sponsored by the National Confectioners Association. I am not sure when this holiday started. But yet another fun holiday to celebrate with your family. #LollipopDay
National Lollipop Day
Take the kids out and enjoy a sucker, a lollipop. This would make a great family outing. In 2014, it fells on a Sunday. After church and you go visit your favorite family restaurant, stop at the store on the way home and enjoy a lollipop! Or you can bring lollipops and hand them out to the kids or everyone at church. In 2014, I brought suckers in and gave it to people at church.

Maybe fork out for the biggest lollipop you can find and hand them out too.
If you go out to eat, maybe with your tip leave a lollipop with your tip and tell the waiter or waitress Happy Lollipop Day. Note, not in lieu of a tip but along with your tip.
When you hand out a lollipop you can also hand them a gospel tract and a Gospel of John.

This day reminds me of the Munchkin off Wizard of Oz and the song that came to my mind was, We represent the Lollipop Kids, the Lollipop Kids. I bet you got that song stuck in your head now! Come on admit it, you are trying to sing it!
Why am I sharing about a food holiday? I like to share some strange and usual holidays we as humans have put together. Maybe we can use these strange holidays as a way to open up and share the gospel with someone. Like an ice-breaker conversation.

I handed out 2 dum dum suckers to each person at church. I got a lot of smiles. One asked me why I was doing this, I just said I felt led to share. Out of the 75 people I handed suckers to, only 2 of them asked for a specific color. Both of them were children. I am surprised that more of the children didn’t ask. But it was a blessing to see the smiles on peoples faces as I handed it them. The older youth and even our Elders in the church.
