It’s Not About You, Mr. Santa Claus (Book Review)

I was given the chance to review a children’s book. This is an inspirational book about Christmas and the true meaning of Christmas. In this book a child writes to Santa Claus and tells Santa the true meaning of Christmas.

Quoted from the book “I discovered that the real meaning of Christmas has nothing to do with you at all. It is about a very special gift. I want to tell you about this gift.”

The author, Coffelt, she is a child writing to Santa about the true meaning of Christmas. The child goes and ask Santa a few questions, like are you losing weight? What do you wear in the Summer? etc. Then goes on to tell Santa the greatest gift of all, the birth of Jesus.

I believe this book done a great basic job of telling the story of the birth of Jesus to Santa. I think this story would be easy for a child to understand as well as an adult. Maybe a great story to tell a new believer or someone that doesn’t know about Jesus’s birth. We we are caught up in the gifts and Santa about Christmas, we are losing the meaning that Jesus is the reason for this season.

We ought to be focusing more on God and loving him more than the gifts we get or even Santa coming etc. I think this book does a great job of explaining that as well.

Soraya Diase Coffelt the author wrote this book as a love letter about the True Meaning of Christmas. Coffelt is a widow and mother of two boys. She is also a lawyer and a judge in the Virgin Islands. She also is involved in the Children’s Ministry at her church.

This book is illustrated by Tae Seroya. I believe done a great job illustrating this book and I hope Seroya will be the one to illustrate the other books in the series that will soon come out.

This book is part of a series published by Morgan James. It seems there will be more coming out soon. I cannot wait to review these books too. Along the series on It’s Not About You, will include ones for Mr. Easter Bunny, Mrs. Turkey and Mr. Pumpkin. These are due out soon, according to their web site, it says coming in 2015.

This book also gives you a free electronic version to use on your electronic tablet or device using BitLit.

I highly recommend this book for your little child or even the children’s department at your church or local ministry.

As I go to a Wi-Fi spot, The Creek Cafe, November 8, 2014, to work on this blog post book review. I see a family come in with a really little boy, I would say he is about 4 or 5.
