Kim Davis Freed from Jail
On September 8, 2015. Kim Davis was released from jail after spending nearly a week in jail. She had help from Mike Huckabee, who’s running for President and Mathew D. Straver of Liberty Counsel.
She was in jail (in Carter County Detention Facility) for standing up for her rights and beliefs in God. She refused to issue same-sex marriage licenses in Rowan County, Kentucky, where according to state law it is illegal as well. Just the supreme court who says that all states must, when the supreme court, is not the ones who make the laws or can change the laws.
But God’s law is final and she was going by God’s law.
This is a short bit of what Kim Davis said at the press rally upon her release.
“Thank you all so much. I love you all so very much,” she said. “I just want to give God the glory. His people have rallied, and you are a strong people. We serve a living God who knows exactly where each and every one of us is at. Just keep on pressing. Don’t let down, because he is here. He’s worthy.”
News reports even report that Mike Huckabee was willing to trade places with her in jail. Where she would be free and he would serve her time for her.
She was release and she can return to work. She was suppose to stay in jail until she agreed to issue the same-sex marriage license. Since the other deputy clerks are issuing the same-sex marriage license she was released and can return back to work, but she cannot interfere with the other deputy clerks issuing the same-sex marriage license.
She is still seeking the courts to get her name removed from these types of marriage licenses.
Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham has this to say …
The Supreme Court may have legalized same-sex marriage, but it has not secured the religious freedom guaranteed to us by the First Amendment.
I ask that we pray for our Nation as we are turning our backs on God. Pray for Kim Davis as she returns back to work and also the many, many Christians being persecuted around the world and even in our Nation. We do need more men and women who are willing to stand up for our rights and beliefs in God that are being taking away from us. Ones willing to be jailed or even die for God and standing up for Him.
Kim Davis is of Apostolic Christian Faith.
