Hakuna matata

I am sure we all are familiar with the Swahili phrase, “Hakuna matata”.  It has several meanings, No problems, no trouble, don’t worry, etc. According to the Lion King, it means, “No Worries for the Rest of your Life.” I believe these Lion King characters have a good point here. #HakunaMatata

I previous published the blog post and since the new Lion King movie came out, I figured I would republish this blog post.

The Bible tells us not to worry.  See Matthew 6:34, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” The Bible even shares with us that God feeds the birds and reminds us we are more valuable than the birds, yet God feeds the birds. See Luke 12:24. “Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?” Even in Matthew 6:25-34, it tells us not to worry about what to eat, even makes a similar reference about the birds too. It also tells us not to worry about clothing either.

No Worries for the Rest of your Life.

If we don’t worry, leave everything in God’s Hands and seek after Him. All things will be added unto us. God will give us what we need. Not what we want. Remember he even gave the daily manna to the Israelites’ as they were leaving Egypt. See Exodus 16:35. Even Philippians 4:6 tells us to not be anxious. God wants us to come to Him for everything. That is a total surrender. Giving our all to Him. We go to Him in prayer. Even David knew God would be with him. David shares this in several Psalms, including the most popular Psalm; Psalm 23.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Matthew 6:34

Joshua 1:9 is another verse too!

Over and over again the list can continue to go on to no worry in the Bible. So give it to God cause He cares for you. Christ is the answer to everything! Christ died for you. There is no greater love than someone laying up their life for you. Christ gave His all for us. We should give Him back everything we can.

  1. Love the message of this post, sometimes we forget to give it to God and we worry. I know I forget and worry too much, Thank you for writing this.

  2. KatiScarlettJones Hey thanks so much for the comment. I got it. Yes we do forget a lot of times to give it to God, we try to fix it or handle it ourself. You are welcome for this post and remember to give it ALL to God.

  3. Hakuna Matata is close to my heart because Lion King is a film our family bonded over. Also, the message of this post drives home. We need not worry. The Bible mentioned that 365 times which is like God telling us not to fear, not to worry everyday in a year. 🙂
