The sermon came from Psalm 2 and Psalm 46.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble therefore we will not fear

We are saved by grace, not by our words or works

We have the presence, protection and power of God with us.

Elohim (Hebrew name for God) Genesis 2:4 My pastor uses quiet often. Chapter 46 wouldn’t work w/anyone else!

Some things God is …

  • Invisible
  • Invincible
  • All Power God
  • Might God
  • Our Refuge
  • God is Able
  • Our Protection
  • God is there in times of danger
  • Our Shelter
  • God is our Safety net

With God ALL things wasn’t cheap.

It came at a price. The price of His Son’s blood that was shed for our sins. It is sad, but men still today run to false refuges. God also pardons, protects and preserves His children. There is shelter in Christ. A Fort is not good unless it is built right. Build it on Jesus.

Isaiah 40:31 was mention. That is my favorite Bible verse.

These are my notes from the morning sermon on March 18, 2012 at Piedmont Baptist Church by Pastor Bob Neal.
