Fishing for men?

Captain ChristianBlogR coming to you to share with you another Bible Stories of the Sea. This time I talk about fishing for men. This story follows The Great Catch.

Fishing for men!

Fishing for Men

That’s exactly right. You read this title right. Here is another Bible Stories of the Sea.

Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”  Matthew 4:19

Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”  Mark 1:17

Get your rod ready, cast your net. Reel it in, it’s a big catch! We have to think about witnessing to the lost not only as a harvest, but like we are fishing. Casting out our rod, that is sharing the Gospel, or the Good News about Jesus. No matter where we go, we must fish for men, when word men is used here it means people.

Just like fishing, we must know how to fish, type or rod to use and even the type of bait. The same goes when we go fishing for men. We must know the Word of God. We must share that Word. We must know how deep the fish or man is. We also must know what that person needs to hear. How do we know that? Trusting the Holy Spirit to guide us when we share with the fish, person we caught.

A good quote about this is from CH Spurgeon on Spiritual Leadership by Steve Miller (ISBN 0802 41064-2). This quote is found on page 175 and it says, “Fisher of men he cast in that far and wide always seeking new prospects always trusting God to pair the fruit. He castanet differently each time so to avoid repetition or monotony.”

After we cast our net, offer the bait and reel them in, it is up to the Holy Spirit to convict them.

The main premise in fishing for men is reaching the lost.

When it comes to evangelism … You are either fishing for men or being disobedient.

In God We Trust Day a day based on that is imprinted on our currency here in the United States. Our Nation was founded under One Nation under God. The Red & Black Ant Analogy — Understanding the True Enemy — In the natural world, there’s a fascinating phenomenon involving ants. If you place 100 black ants and 100 red ants in a jar, they coexist peacefully. However, if the jar is shaken, chaos ensues. The ants, now agitated, begin to attack each other, perceiving their fellow jar-mates as the enemy. This behavior provides a poignant metaphor for human society, where often the true adversary is not the one who appears different from us, but rather the one who incites division.
