Cow Appreciation Day

Sadly 2020 has been canceled!

Usually you would come dressed up like a cow or have a cow accessory on this day!

Cow Appreciation Day

This year, we have decided to postpone the annual holiday in honor of our beloved bovines. We made this decision with the communities we serve in mind, keeping Safe Service as our highest priority at this time. Until we can gather again in person and celebrate our Cows, we have created a few fun ways to keep the spirit of Cow Appreciation Day alive this summer.

Chick-fil-A

Usually on this day and this day only, dress up like a cow and have a udderly good day. Bad pun eh?

Just because Cow Appreciation Day 2020 is postponed doesn’t mean your family can’t enjoy cow-themed quality time together.  Click here to view, download and print activities on Pinterest and enjoy making memories with your herd!

Most people dressed up like the Chick-fil-A Cows, which are Holstein Cows. Holstein’s have black and white spots.

Usually you came dressed up in Black and white spots, cow bells and ears.. Please make sure it is in appropriate cow attire from your head to hoof. Maybe you want to be different and dress up like another type of cow, be creative! After you, the family and your group is dressed up head to a participating Chick-fil-A ® restaurant. You can get free breakfast, lunch or dinner combo meal, includes an entrée, side and a drink.

If you are a “chicken” you can also get away with a cow-spotted accessory, like a hat, scarf or purse and get a free entrée instead.

To sum it up, if you dress like a cow you would have got a free complete meal with entrée, side and drink. If you have a cow accessory you get only the entrée.

Of course, I am sure certain restrictions apply and only at participating locations too.

Maybe another great way to take the family out and have a cowabunga day. Maybe you can Mooo and hand out some Gospel Tracts or Gospel of John’s out too.

One thing funny you can do is if you are driving down the road, pass a farm that has some hay outside, yell really loud and point toward the hay and yell …

HAY!

When you see a bale of hay off to the distance holler out, “Hay!” Everyone will look around and maybe ask who was that? You can say, “hay.”. Funny stuff eh?

Make your own costume!

You can do it like my daughter and I did. We took an old white t-shirt and you can use markers or black paint make spots on the shirt. Maybe you can get creative with the shirts draw designs our use color? Even hot glue and scrap material or needle and thread in a sewing machine. The possibilities are endless. Get creative!

The History

Since 2005, Chick-fil-a has been doing this event. In 2019, is the 15th year of dressing up like cows. There has been over 2,400 participating locations. It has been reported that over 1.95 million people participated in 2018.

Check out where Amber and I dressed up in 2014. I even go over briefly how we did our costumes.
