Chasing Grace Movie Review

About:

A tragic accident threatens to destroy a pastor’s family and sets into motion a complex betrayal between two brothers, while exposing secrets no one wants to face.

Chasing Grace DVD CoverPastor Jonathan Matheson lives in a world of black and white, yet finds a way to navigate the “grey-in between” to work to his advantage, while facing one of the most tragic moments of his life. Set in small-town America and woven inside a tale of redemption, “Chasing Grace” is a story of how one family takes on the burden of guilt in order to make sense of their loss. While pointing the finger of blame at his brother, Pastor Jonathan also chooses to hide from the truth while trying to escape his own personal demons. “Chasing Grace” is loosely based upon true events and provides a powerful story about redeeming power of forgiveness.

My Review:

The movie does start off with a funeral, death scene. Then it talks about the prodigal son. Luke 15:11-32.

This film does show violence. There is drinking and implied drinking in this movie too. There is some scenes of attempted suicide too. This movie is a type of thriller movie and suspense.

I do believe this movie is recommend for older teens and up. It is not recommend for young children at all.

This movie does seem to point out some Biblical type lessons off and on.

This movie was an alright movie. It didn’t catch my attention that much. I did watch it through. It is a film maybe you should check out once. The movie did seem to better toward the end of the movie. The ending is the best part of the movie in my opinion.

This is a story of forgiveness and redemption.

Check out this blog post on forgiveness.
